Bitcoin network guide

Bitcoin transfers use the Bitcoin network. A valid-looking address is not enough: confirm the wallet, network, amount and confirmation expectations.

Check the address in your wallet

Copy the receiving address directly from the destination wallet, compare the first and last characters, and avoid relying only on clipboard history.

Fees affect confirmation speed

Bitcoin miners prioritize transactions by fee conditions and network demand. Estimated times are not guarantees.

Confirmations take time

A route may wait for one or more network confirmations before processing a payout. A broadcast transaction is not the same as a confirmed transaction.

Do not confuse Bitcoin-like assets

Use BTC on the network named by the quote. Wrapped tokens and assets on other networks are different transfer paths even when their names reference Bitcoin.
